Many years ago we saw a picture of him taken in 1950 at Welton Manor, Yorkshire, England ( see original photo by clicking HERE ). We searched the world high and low to find this Gnome and finally tracked him down sunning himself in California! We know he was born in Germany around 1940 (originally designed and manufactured by Heissner) and though he was one of the most beloved Gnomes ever made, very few have survived. Whether you are picking up Herbert for yourself or as a gift, we know this very special Gnome will delight for many generations to come. Comes With A FREE MUSHROOM!
